Essentials before camp week
Answers for choosing a camp and preparing your child. Details that vary by week, such as exact schedules, prices and packing lists, are in booking and pre-camp information.
01What ages are the camps for?
Outdoor camp is for ages 6–12, MTB camp 9–12. Age limits help create suitable groups. Contact us before booking if your child is just outside the range or you are unsure.
02How big are the groups?
Groups normally have around twelve children and three leaders, one with greater group responsibility. Numbers may vary slightly by week and activity, always aiming for good supervision and attentive leaders.
03Can you support children with neurodevelopmental conditions or extra needs?
We want as many children as possible to have a good experience, and leaders receive basic preparation for different needs. Clearly describe needs, diagnoses or helpful strategies when booking. For extensive or individual adjustments, contact us first so we can assess a safe, suitable camp together.
04Does my child need to swim?
Both camps may include activities by or on water. If your child cannot swim 200 metres unaided, state this and discuss it with us in advance. We provide buoyancy aids for paddling, but activities may need adapting to swimming ability and water confidence.
05What if my child is ill?
Notify the camp organiser promptly using pre-camp contact details. If a child is absent without notice, we contact the guardian. Individual sick days during a started week are normally not refunded; current terms appear before payment.
06Is food included and how do I report allergies?
Lunch and snacks are included on camp days. State allergies, diets and other important information in booking. Contact us before camp for complex needs or to check the information arrived.
07What should my child bring?
A detailed packing list and current practical information arrive before camp. Expect weather-appropriate clothes, changes, water bottle and camp-specific items. MTB camp also has particular bike and protection requirements.
08How do you manage safety and wellbeing?
Leaders prepare in first aid, water safety, fire, emergency routines, respectful interaction and preventing mistreatment. Activities have clear boundaries and participants are covered by the business's insurance during camp.
09When do we get the exact schedule and contacts?
Before camp we send meeting point, times, packing list, contacts and week-specific information. We aim for you to have the details around two weeks before the start.
10How does camp week end?
Normally with a Friday afternoon family barbecue. Exact time and arrangements are in your week's information as programmes vary.
