Rent a mountain bike, improve your trail technique, join Wednesday rides or find a children's camp. Start from Sunnersta and choose routes for your ability, conditions and shared use of the trails.
Mountain biking from Sunnerstastugan
It is easy to get out on a mountain bike from Sunnerstastugan. Rent a hardtail, full-suspension MTB or junior bike, book a skills course or join a social Wednesday ride.
The marked mountain bike trail runs through Sunnerstaåsen, Granebergsskogen and Vårdsätra forest. Ride a shorter loop near the lodge or combine loops into a longer tour through southern Uppsala.
Choose how you want to ride
- Mountain bike rental: Choose a hardtail, full-suspension MTB or junior bike and start close to the trails.
- Course or private lesson: Practise balance, braking, cornering, body position and line choice with an instructor.
- Wednesday rides: Join a free, social ride from Sunnerstastugan.
- Mountain bike camp: Five active days for ages 9–12, with skills, trails and time together.
- Trails and tips: Explore the loops in Sunnersta, Graneberg and Vårdsätra before setting off.
For first rides and experienced riders alike
You do not need to be an expert to enjoy Sunnersta's trails. If you are new, choose an easy ride and get to know the bike; combine more loops for extra distance and variety. Always adapt speed and route to your experience, the terrain and other visitors.
Make a day of Sunnersta
After riding, Sunnerstastugan offers a café, barbecue and changing facilities. Combine your ride with lunch, coffee and cake or another local activity, and check current opening hours before visiting.
