Our tips for different ski days
Sunnersta
Close to rental equipment, woodland and fika. With enough natural snow, Sunnersta suits a relaxed outing. Check grooming before planning a continuous training session.
Trail reports on Skidspår.se →KAP
Ice shavings from Studenternas provide skiing close to the centre. The municipality is developing a floodlit artificial-snow track during 2026. Laps can be short: practical for nearby training, but check what is open and groomed.
Trail reports on Skidspår.se →Storvreta · Skogsvallen / LPR Arena
One of the closest options with snowmaking and a dedicated trail team. We often recommend it and hold many of our cross-country courses here when Sunnersta lacks natural snow. Check conditions, skiing style and any trail pass requirements.
Trail reports on Skidspår.se →Gimo Ski Center
Well-kept trails and a knowledgeable, dedicated ski community make Gimo worth the extra journey. In our experience, snow conditions are often better here than in Uppsala. We warmly recommend a full training day before Vasaloppet. Always check the latest report and trail fees.

Gottsundagipen
Open fields can offer a lovely, relaxed outing when natural snow allows. A nearby change of scenery without a long journey.
Trail reports on Skidspår.se →Fjällnora
A lovely outing when snow and grooming allow. Choose your route after checking reports and bring fika and some extra time.

Longer routes may be possible with natural snow. Check which sections are groomed and choose your distance for the day’s conditions.
