Ski School for kids

Welcome to Ski School at Sunnerstabacken!

Welcome to our ski school for children who want to learn alpine skiing. The course takes place over one weekend – Saturday and Sunday – with 90 minutes of skiing each day.

Age Group

Our ski school is for children aged 6–12 years.
We divide the groups based on age and previous experience.
No prior skills are required.

For older children, kids who already ski well, or adult beginners, feel free to contact us – we also offer instruction for them.

What Will We Learn?

We teach the fundamentals of skiing, such as:

gliding
snowplough
stopping
basic snowplough turns
how to ride the lift

Our goal is to ensure that every child leaves the course with enough confidence to ski on their own with family afterwards.

Course Duration

The course takes place during one weekend, with two sessions, each 90 minutes long – one on Saturday and one on Sunday.

When?

We start as soon as the slope opens for the season.
Lessons are scheduled during the period when snow conditions are usually most reliable.
If there is high demand and good winter conditions, we may add additional course dates.

Spaces are limited based on instructor availability, so first come, first served applies.

Equipment

Ski equipment can be rented from Aktivt Uteliv Uppsala.
We have plenty of equipment, but please book a few weeks in advance to secure the right sizes.

A lift pass is included during the lesson.

No Snow?

If snowmaking is not possible – as was the case in the 2019/20 season – we will refund the full course fee.
If the first sessions must be cancelled but conditions improve later, your child’s course may be rescheduled to another weekend.
We will keep all registered participants clearly informed about the situation.
